ROLO
Homes
Properties in ROLO feature a mix of ranch-style and split-level homes, condo complexes and apartment buildings. Houses here are priced slightly higher than other areas in Lake Worth Beach, like Memorial Park, but it’s more common to find waterfront houses or larger four-bedroom options here. Homes in ROLO are listed anywhere between the upper $300,000s to nearly $600,000, while one-bed, one-bath condo units are priced in the low- to mid-$100,000s. Yards are also varied here, with some sitting at less than a quarter-acre and climbing up to a half-acre. The commonality among all the properties in ROLO is the palm trees seen across Florida.Laid-back local eateries and big box grocers
While downtown Lake Worth Beach is a hub for laid-back local eateries like Dave’s Last Resort and Brick Oven Pizza on the Ave, Lantana Avenue is where locals can do their shopping for groceries and other everyday needs. There is a Costco in ROLO’s southern end along the thoroughfare that is also flanked by ALDI and a Publix Super Market in the Lantana Shopping Center. The small complex houses a hair salon, clothing stores and a Dunkin’ Donuts. Locals also frequent Riggins Crab House, where bibs are handed out so customers can chow down on crab legs or clambakes.Expansive park anchored by Lake Osborne
John Prince Park dominates the eastern side of ROLO. The park is named for John Prince, a Lake Worth Beach resident who served as county commissioner for 18 years. The massive 700-acre green space is situated along Lake Osborne, a hotspot for fishing, boating or kayaking. Miles of greenway paths, including the marsh and wildlife-filled Custard Apple Trail, loop around the reservoir. The park serves as the area’s nucleus, where residents can take advantage of the outdoor fitness center, a dog park, four playgrounds, and sports facilities for softball, basketball, pickleball or tennis. There’s even a golf center where people can work on their game before teeing off on one of the many courses scattered around the greater West Palm Beach area. John Prince Park’s campground is also a popular destination for travelers and snowbirds wanting to enjoy the area’s natural beauty. Complete with its own boat launch, the campsite has space for both tent camping and dozens of RVs. An added bonus for ROLO residents is its proximity to South Palm Beach. The sandy shores and waterfront restaurants are less than 3.5 miles east.Walkable gallery transforms downtown Lake Worth Beach
Active neighborhood associations are a big part of life in Lake Worth Beach. ROLO is part of a larger network of associations that hosts events throughout the city. Among them is The Great Taste of Lake Worth, which kicks off the Street Painting Festival. Along Lake Avenue downtown, more than 40 restaurants are selling food, drinks, and goody bags. During the annual Street Painting Festival, hundreds of artists use chalk to transform the downtown district into a walkable gallery full of temporary murals. Locals can watch the artists as their creations come to life while enjoying live music and street food.Free meals offered to Palm Beach County students
Students in ROLO are zoned for The School District of Palm Beach County, including Barton Elementary School in the nearby Whispering Palms neighborhood. The elementary school and Lake Worth Community Middle School have C ratings from Niche. Students will later attend Lake Worth High School, which earns a C-plus from Niche. As is the case throughout the school district, students in ROLO will have access to free breakfast and lunch courtesy of the county. After graduating, students can stay close to home by attending Palm Beach State College – the campus is adjacent to the neighborhood and John Prince Park.
I-95 links locals to downtown and South Palm Beach
The neighborhood's eastern side sits against Interstate 95, making for convenient travel up and down the Florida coast or the rest of the Eastern U.S. The freeway also connects ROLO residents to Palm Beach International Airport, 10 miles north. While most residents in ROLO are car-dependent and can drive roughly 2 miles to downtown Lake Worth Beach, a Palm Tran bus stop is along Lantana Avenue.
