Prices here range from $150,000 to $350,000. Most of the homes are two- or three-bedroom ranch-style. And they tend to stay on the market for over 100 days, higher than the national average. Stowell says that HOA dues are more than $200 a month, but it provides residents with maintenance services, lawn care, internet and other amenities. The neighborhood is anchored by Highland Fairways Golf Course, an 18-hole executive course that stretches just over 2,200 yards and is home to several different golf leagues. Other amenities include pickleball, shuffleboard and bocce. The clubhouse also has a community pool and spa. Stowell says events include a New Year’s Eve celebration and board-sponsored Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Dances are also held at the clubhouse every month.For greenspaces that do not require green fees, the 88-acre Lake Parker Park, located 3 miles east, features places for fishing, walking and playing games.
Restaurants along Griffin Road and shopping centers nearby
Restaurant options are found mostly around Griffin and Knights Station roads. Jona Bells Café on Knights Station serves coffee drinks and sandwiches. Romeo’s Pizza and Pasta has a selection of Italian dishes. The Lakeland Square Mall, 2 miles east, is home to big-box retailers and department stores, including Dillard’s and JCPenney. Publix is near the community’s entrance on Griffin Road. The closest hospital is Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.Local bus and interstate connections
Citrus Connection provides bus services to Highland Fairways. Stops for the blue line run along Griffin Road and connect to the mall and downtown Lakeland. Interstate 4 is east of the community. The closest airport is Lakeland Linder International.Weather events in Highland Fairways
Weather can be a factor in the neighborhood. Hurricane Milton impacted the area in 2024 with some flooding. Power and cell services were lost, but properties only suffered minor damages. Polk County also maintains an emergency management system for residents.
