Rural living near Laredo’s World Trade Bridge and the Rio Grande
Canta Ranas is a Webb County community in southern Laredo that borders the banks of the Rio Grande. This community features modest homes and partially paved roads, where residents maintain small livestock pens and vegetable gardens reflective of South Texas’ agricultural roots. "There's a strong sense of camaraderie throughout the community," says Martha Wright-Martinez, Laredo native and Realtor with Coldwell Banker Ana Ochoa & Company. "It's really reflected all throughout the city but it thrives more in working-class neighborhoods such as Canta Ranas." Located about 3 miles from the World Trade Bridge—a major U.S.-Mexico trade corridor—the area balances quiet riverside living with access to cross-border commerce.
