A popular residential area east of Summerlin

The Section Seven community, developed between the late 1980s and 1990s, is south of Peccole Ranch and east of Summerlin. Convenient to shopping and dining options, the area offers a wide variety of home styles and floorplans within proximity of local schools, parks and popular recreation spots in the Summerlin area. All of these are reachable by car or by using one of the many smooth sidewalks in the area. “It is the perfect blend of city and suburban life,” says Zoey Hugh, a local resident who has lived in the area for over 10 years. “It is not super touristy, but there are still plenty of entertainment and shopping options.”

Nevada’s nature preserves and community centers

There are plenty of parks just a short walk or drive away, including Lake Sahara, which offers multiple green spaces and views of the water. “When People think of Section Seven, they also think about The Lakes,” Huynh says. Willows Park is nearby on the western side of the neighborhood and offers multiple baseball fields as well as a community center with a pool. More outdoorsy residents can head farther west for a hike at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, home to over 100 bird species and 45 different kinds of mammals.

Las Vegas ball games and parades

Recreation and fun are less than 3 miles away as locals are close to the Las Vegas Ballpark, which is home to the minor league team, the Aviators. “During the winter, when it is not baseball season, there is a massive Christmas maze there,” Huynh says. The event is known as Enchant and delights visitors and locals alike with thousands of twinkling lights all around the stadium. Locals also gather each 4th of July to enjoy the Summerlin Patriotic Festival, which attracts more than 35,000 Southern Nevadans each year.

A variety of Nevada stucco homes

The neighborhood is a time capsule of stately and well-kept properties. Mediterranean-style one- and two-story homes with stucco exteriors and tile roofs put their best faces forward on meticulously landscaped lots with desert plantings and gravel yards. While homes look similar by block, imaginative native plantings show personality and similar style roofs create a mosaic effect from a birds eye view. A network of smooth concrete sidewalks connects neighbors and homes while dedicated bike paths on tree-lined thoroughfares provide alternatives for commuting and exercise. Homes in the area commonly range from $375,000 to $800,000, with more expensive properties having been recently constructed with larger lawns.

Many residents in The Section Seven can find dining and shopping just across West Sahara Avenue. One such eatery is Chicago Brewery, which is an industrial-style brewpub known for its IPAs and handmade chicken fingers. For a quick lunchtime option, many locals head to Grabbagreen, popular for its salads and bowls that are “very light but so good” Huynh says. Residents can head to Village Square or Canyon Lakes Plaza for big-box retailers like Petco and HomeGoods, with options for groceries available at Albertsons and Sprouts.

The area is not only saturated with popular roads, but almost every street in the neighborhood is lined with sidewalks and crosswalks, making morning jogs and dog walking a common sight. “There are tons of people walking around to go shopping,” Huynh says. For longer trips, Harry Reid International Airport is 16 miles away. MountainView Hospital is 8 miles to the north for medical care.
