The quiet life in Vegas

The Woodcrest neighborhood of Las Vegas is about as inconspicuous as one can get in Sin City. Low-key residential streets may seem out of place in a town known for its glamorous lifestyle, but that remove is exactly what Woodcrest locals enjoy. While Spanish Revival homes on densely packed lots is the norm here, the neon-illuminated atmosphere around the Strip is a short trip down the highway. When the rest of Vegas beckons, residents can get there from Woodcrest.

Coming home to Sin City

Woodcrest sits to the northwest of the Strip, so prices tend to be more favorable. “It’s more budget-friendly if you’re trying to be near the casinos,” says Nick Devitte, owner of Forever Home Realty and life-long Las Vegas resident. “There are a lot of older homes there, not a lot of new construction. It’s pretty dense, but people can still have yards.” Homes typically have Spanish-influenced features, and many have large garages so residents do not have to park outdoors on blistering summer days in the desert. A three-bedroom townhouse with a Spanish tile roof prices around $310,000, while a four-bedroom ranch-style home with Tudor accents and a fenced-in backyard starts at $450,000.
