For the past 150 years, the town's liveliest annual event has been the Lawrenceburg Fair & Horse Show, a six-day festival that includes carnival rides and equestrian competitions. But even though it's a small farm town where dark liquor flows, the roughly 12,000 residents can commute to corporate jobs in the neighboring city of Lexington.
