Quiet residential living next to the growing commercial areas of west Lawton

While the Great Plains may be synonymous with Oklahoma, the Great Plains neighborhood on Lawton’s west end is synonymous with quiet streets, brick ranch homes and easy access to growing commercial areas. “Having a Target over there is nice,” says James Lengele, a local Realtor with Coldwell Banker Salute. “You’re near the big movie theater, Walmart and more stuff that’s opening up.” Fort Sill and other major employers are within 5 miles of the neighborhood, and many residents here are military. Lawton public schools and area parks are under a mile away, and popular restaurants like Backporch Drafthouse West can be found along Cache Road.

A few builds have been renovated and expanded to include a second floor. Prices for a three-bedroom, two-bath home range between $120,000 and $175,000, slightly above the Lawton average. “It’s a good location, so you get the higher prices,” says Heesun Stanfield, a local Realtor with REMAX Professionals with over 20 years experience selling in Lawton. There is a limited amount of inventory, and when listings go on the market, they generally sell after 39 days, lower than the national average of 44 days.
