Morford
Midcentury ranch homes with architectural flair
Housing here is primarily brick ranch-style homes from the 1950s. Some feature Tudor-revival-style architectural staples like pitch-gabled roofs, while others have modern farmhouse flair. Quant craftsman-style cottages with vinyl siding are scattered throughout. Small grassy lawns are common, as are multicar garages. Three-bedroom home prices range from $90,000 to $200,000. Fixer uppers and older builds in need of a little TLC can sell for as low as $30,000. "There are hidden gems throughout the Morford neighborhood, including fully remodeled homes and profitable investment opportunities," Speirs says.Wilson Park is nearby

The Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge is 16 miles away and is a popular destination for hiking. An international party at Elmer Thomas Park
Elmer Thomas Park hosts many events throughout the year, including the International Festival. The three-day celebration, which takes place in September, highlights the city's diverse heritage and cultures through performances and demonstrations. The event begins with an opening ceremony and parade of nations, and many live performances are held across two stages. Freedom Festival and Holiday in the Park are other popular gatherings held at Elmer Thomas Park. "In the wintertime, the park does a lot of stuff for Christmas like hot coco and caroling," says Krist Brabaw, local Realtor with Coldwell Banker Salute. "It's great for the community."Whittier Elementary has received recognition

That history of winning has continued through the present day as the school won multiple state championships in Poetry and Speech contests during the 2010s. Cameron University is a mile away and offers numerous undergraduate and graduate degree programs.Close to popular restaurants and retailers
