A sought-after neighborhood boosted by Bishop schools
In Rolling Hills, smooth streets welcome residents home to a neighborhood whose appeal is more than surface level. This quiet section of Lawton is full of modest but modern single-story homes. It’s the location, though, that pushes this area over the top for some. Houses here open the door to the high-performing Bishop Public School. “That’s the biggest draw for that location: the age of the houses, it's expanding with new construction and then the Bishop school district,” says local Realtor Terri Strecker of RE/MAX, who has almost 20 years of real estate experience.

Established homes with more being added
Most houses date back to the 1980s. But driving around the neighborhood is like passing through time — different sections were built in different decades and construction is ongoing. Potential homebuyers can find either an established option or a new one, based on budget and needs. Properties look very similar, fashioned in contemporary and new traditional styles with brick exteriors. “But people still love them because they’re clean,” says local Realtor Barbara Clark of Barbara Clark Realty, who has 14 years of real estate experience. “It’s got good space on the inside and not a lot of carpet. There’s not a lot of trees, so we don’t have a lot of foundation issues.”
Homes in Rolling Hills are built closely together on square lots, but properties still have yard space. Sale prices range between $100,000 and $300,000 depending on age and square footage.

Bishop boasts a big reputation
Students can attend the independent Bishop Public School, which teaches prekindergarten through fifth grade, and gets an A on Niche. The elementary school offers extracurricular opportunities including a chess club and choir. Bishop opened a new middle school building for the 2024-25 school year, and the middle school is yet to receive a Niche grade. Children can move on to a high school in the Lawton Public Schools system, like the B-rated MacArthur High or the B-minus-rated Lawton High, which both offer Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association academic teams. Rolling Hills is also close to the Great Plains Technology Center, where there are high school and adult career programs in topics ranging from 3D animation to video production.
Catch a flight at Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport
The Lawton-Fort Sill Regional Airport offers commercial flights through American Airlines, is only about 4 miles east of Rolling Hills. Drivers in the area benefit from being just 4 miles from Interstate 44, which connects Oklahoma City, just over 90 miles north.
McMahon Park makes recreation easy to find
Rolling Hills is almost exclusively residential, but residents have the sprawling McMahon Park at their disposal, less than a mile away. It offers multiple ball diamonds, a skatepark, a dog park and even an inline hockey rink. “I think it’s great to have that,” Clark says. The neighborhood is also close to Lemuel Harkey Park, which has an expansive playground.
