Countryside offers suburban homes, neighborhood parks and a trail
A suburb in League City, Countryside has community pools and a paved fitness trail close to home, while city shopping districts are just a couple of miles away. But the biggest draw to this area, also sometimes called Countryside South, is its home pricing. "It’s one of the few [neighborhoods] in town that is in the entry-level price range,” says Grant Rothberg, a Realtor with Keller Williams Houston Preferred who has eight years of experience. “There are starter-home options and some larger and newer properties that run a little higher.” The community is also within 10 miles of Johnson Space Center, a major employer for over 11,000 NASA contractors and government workers.
Countryside is a well-established community surrounded by great amenities.
Countryside residents can be found out walking along the shaded Magnolia Trails.

Single-family homes built from the 1970s through today
The neighborhood consists of single-family homes priced from $250,000 to $500,000, varying by square footage and age. Many rambler and Craftsman-inspired homes were built in the 1970s and ‘80s, while contemporary-style and custom homes from the 2000s through today are also available. The Countryside Homeowners’ Association maintains neighborhood amenities like the local pool and enforces the zoning bylaws homeowners must abide by when building new homes or remodeling. The neighborhood has a CAP Index Crime Score of 1 out of 10, lower than the national score of 4.
Countryside has many comfy one-story rambler style homes throughout the neighborhood.

Lynn Gripon Park and Countryside South Pool are major draws
Located by the banks of Clear Creek, Lynn Gripon Park, also called Countryside Park, is just northeast of the community. It features fields for baseball and soccer, courts for sand volleyball and basketball, playgrounds and picnic pavilions, as well as a kayak launch. Locals can also take their dogs to the Lynn Gripon Bark Park. Across Main Street is the Countryside South Pool, open to residents and their guests from April through October. Part of a community complex with a picnic area and playground, the pool's “swim at your own risk” policy allows it to be open for longer hours. The paved Magnolia Creek Trail runs through the whole neighborhood and connects the community pool to Lynn Gripon Park. The community is just north of the private Magnolia Creek Golf Club, where members can practice at the driving range, enjoy 27 holes of links-style golf or meet up at the club’s Lone Pine Grill.
Countryside children enjoy the playgrounds at Lynn Gripon Park.

Dining along Main Street or shopping at Bay Colony Town Center
Several restaurants can be found along Main Street. Folks can head to Legends Sports Grill, a neighborhood hangout that serves beer and pub grub and regularly hosts game-day watch parties. A few doors down, there’s also Little K Kitchen, a Vietnamese restaurant offering pho, banh mi and short-rib fried rice. A shopping strip, Bay Colony Town Center, is less than 6 miles east, with an H-E-B for groceries and retailers such as Kohl’s and Lowe’s.
Residents of Countryside can enjoy a meal close to home at Red Oak Cafe.

Commuters can drive to Houston, while NASA is minutes away
Locals are not confined to any one industry in Houston’s wide-ranging job market. “You get folks who work from all around living here, involved in aerospace or related firms,” Rothberg says. “Some also work in shipping, tech and energy.” NASA employees only have to drive 8 miles east to reach Johnson Space Center. Interstate 45 leads 28 miles to Houston, taking 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. William P. Lobby Airport is 18 miles away for domestic and international flights.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
