Olentangy
Three subdivisions of affordable houses
Olentangy's wide suburban streets and maintained sidewalks are lined with vinyl-sided Tudor and contemporary-style homes. Most properties are around a quarter to a half-acre in size. Prices generally fall between $200,000 and $500,000. Sidewalks line each of the three subdivisions in the area, creating a walkable space with plenty of room to push strollers. The Village at Olentangy Meadows is on the western part of Olentangy, with homes ranging from $270,000 to $340,000. Another subdivision is Olentangy Meadows, priced at $350,000 to over $400,000, and the Woods of Olentangy makes up the third subdivision with older homes still priced in the mid $300,000 to over $400,000.Miles of walking trails at Highbanks Metro Park
There are plenty of paths to walk within the neighborhood, but there are limited spaces for parks and recreation facilities. The 1200-acre Highbanks Metro Park seems to make up for that with seven walking trails, including a two-mile trail leading to an Olentangy River overlook. It also has a playground, a nature center and cross-country skiing trails to explore.Take a mall day at Polaris Fashion Place
Between Polaris Fashion Place and Polaris Towne Center to the east, Olentangy has access to plenty of shopping and dining. Polaris Fashion Place is a two-level mall that's home to nearly 200 retail, dining and entertainment businesses. Its anchor stores include Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy’s. For groceries, people stop by the Kroger in Polaris Towne Center. The area’s biggest employer is JP Morgan Chase, which employs 10,000 workers at one of the largest office buildings in the country. “Quite a few people live in Olentangy and work at Chase,” Williamson says, due to the convenience of the office being five minutes to the east.Top rated schools and public university access
Olentangy Meadows Elementary School rates an A on Niche. Olentangy Orange Middle School also receives an A, and in 2024, Niche rated it the No.7 Best Public Middle School in the Columbus area. Orange High School also earns an A. For those looking for advanced education options, Ohio State University is less than 11 miles away, and Columbus State University, a community college, is nearby in downtown Columbus.15 miles north of Columbus
Sidewalks allow for safer travel within the neighborhood. U.S. Route 23 marks the western border of Olentangy. Drivers can use it to access downtown Columbus, just 15 miles south. Lazelle Road runs through all the major shopping areas nearby, including the Polaris Fashion Center.
