One of southern Lexington's main arteries, Nicholasville Road, passes right beside Deerfield, giving residents direct access to a variety of shopping and dining options. Just across Pasadena Drive, folks will find a mixed industrial and commercial center that's home to everything from clothing and furniture stores to services like massage or veterinary care. Nearby, restaurants include Old San Juan, known for its authentic Cuban cuisine and Planet Thai, which serves up classic dishes like Tom Yum soup and Pad Thai. Folks can also explore Southland Drive and its many locally-owned eateries, like the Good Foods Co-op, a health-focused grocer where residents can grab a freshly-pressed juice. Winchell's Restaurant and Bar is another local institution that's been serving up southern classics like their signature Kentucky hot browns and barbecued pork dishes for over 25 years. Right across the street, Marikka's German Bier Stube serves a variety of German beers and cuisine beside an outdoor volleyball court. Here, folks can compete with one another in league games, tournaments or just for fun.
