Cheer for the Wildcats from Elizabeth Street
Half a mile from the University of Kentucky and sandwiched between several hospitals, Elizabeth Street is a charming residential neighborhood with a diverse occupancy. “It’s definitely a hotspot for artistic types, hospital workers and students,” says local Realtor Marcus Hammond. Living here is often a practical choice, keeping school or work a short walk or bike ride away, but the neighborhood’s single-family homes and tree-lined streets bring a small-town coziness to the heart of the city. For University of Kentucky sports fans, the neighborhood is ideally located, with the school’s football stadium less than a mile away. On game days, residents can stroll down to Kroger Field in less than 20 minutes or stay in the neighborhood and enjoy the festivities. “You can sit on the back porch and listen to the public address speakers announce the game,” Hammond says.
Kroger Field is the home of the Kentucky Wildcats football team.
