The real estate market in Firebrook is competitive due to its highly rated school district and above-average lot sizes. “In terms of market dynamics, it remains competitive,” says Kush Rathod, Realtor with Lifestyle Real Estate. “Inventory is low, but sold-price ratios indicate buyers are still submitting offers either close or right at list price.” Most homes were built between the 1990s and early 2000s and feature rambler, Colonial Revival and New Traditional styles, with dark brick tones contrasting the area's green lawns. Homes here often feature mid-sized lawns, multi-car garages and paved driveways. With a median sales price of $500,000, homes are priced nearly $200,000 more than the average property in the Lexington metro area. For example, prices start around $200,000 for a three-bedroom rambler and can reach upwards of $800,000 for a five-bedroom New Traditional with amplee acreage. Outliers here, which feature more than half an acre of land, often sell for higher prices and can reach upwards of $1.2 million. Homeowners here should note that Firebrook residents must also pay an annual $750 HOA fee, which maintains amenities like the clubhouse, community pool and private fishing lake.

When shopping in the area, residents are 5 miles from the popular Fayette Mall, which features department stores like Dillard’s, Macy’s and JCPenney. Groceries and everyday essentials are available at the Palomar Centre, which also features stores like Walmart and Walgreens Pharmacy, about 2 miles north of the community. While the Millpond Center, just 1 mile south of the neighborhood, boasts a Kroger grocery store. Dining options in the area include the family-owned Luna's Coffee, Wine and Butterfly Cafe, which serves a variety of beverages and a selection of charcuterie boards. The owners also have a butterfly farm and a plant nursery, which adds to the restaurant's relaxing environment and appeal. For a night out, Malone's is a more upscale locale that takes pride in their steaks and bottomless salad options. Another popular spot is the Lexington-founded Ramsey's Diner, which has served the community for over 35 years and is known for its southern-inspired cuisine and rotating 'pie of the month.'
