North Lexington is 1 mile from downtown Lexington with access to employers and highly rated schools

North Lexington, a mile from downtown Lexington, is surrounded by greenery and close to Interstate 95. The area is popular with commuters and is known for its vibrant downtown. “There’s great schools, great locations with proximity to Boston and close to technology areas,” says Jay McHugh, a broker and owner at LAER Realty Partners. McHugh has worked in the industry for 36 years. “Route 128 is a major highway with a lot of technology industry along it, so it is easy to access. It has a great downtown, great golf courses; it’s a well-balanced community.”

Newly built and renovated homes

Large homes line winding roadways with manicured front and backyards. Many houses have long driveways leading to built-in garages, and narrow sidewalks border some. North Lexington has mainly single-family homes, but condos and townhouses are available. Most homes are in the Colonial Revival style, and newly built homes are in the New Traditional style. Single-family houses range from $1 million to $4 million, while condos and townhouses range from $550,000 to $875,000. “They do have sporadic developments, but for the most part, it's called a knock-down; they take down a large home and construct a mansion and sell it for well over $2 million,” says McHugh. “For homes on the market, there’s a balance of newly built and newly renovated homes.”
