Calm Coronado Shores
With lots of beachfront hotels nearby and no restaurants or shops within walking distance, it's clear that Coronado Shores is a neighborhood for residential living, whether it's for a few days in the summer or year round. The neighborhood offers a quiet lifestyle uninterrupted by commerce and with the neighborhood's small, secluded nature, residents share a true community feel. "I’ve lived in a lot of places all over the country but I’ve never been in a better place," says Frank Covacevich, a resident and Coronado Shores Beach Club board member. "The people are phenomenal, helpful without having to ask, and extremely caring and loving to each other. It's extremely quiet here, and the beach is right on your doorstep."
Beaches and wildlife everywhere, plus seaside cliffs
The neighborhood is includes seven miles of sandy Oregon coastline. Seals live by the sandstone cliffs and wildlife viewing sites of Gleneden Beach State Park, where the shores are strewn with agate and fossils. The Alder Island Nature Trailhead has several hiking trails, and Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge offers paddling, salmon fishing and bird-watching.

Cottage and bungalow-style homes on the Oregon Coast
Coronado Shores hugs the Oregon coastline, and the architecture reflects that. Streets are winding, enclosed and private, and people live in cottages and bungalows with two to three bedrooms each. Some properties are steps from the coastline. " There are a lot of cottage-like homes with lots of shore pines and nice landscaping. It’s very kept up and super charming," says Audra Powell, a Broker/ CRS with Advantage Real Estate. Powell has sold numerous homes in the Newport and Gleneden areas. "The housing market is quite good. Some properties take a little longer to sell but it’s still very competitive and balanced market," she adds. Prices range between $400,000 to $600,000.
