The community’s residential streets teem with New Traditional homes of varying sizes. Built from the 1990s to the present day, they offer an assortment of amenities, from covered verandas with outdoor fireplaces to four-car garages. “It’s the nicest area in Little Rock. Because of the property owners association, the properties are really well kept up. Most of the lots are pretty large and some of them have golf-course views,” says Hugh Jordan, a Realtor with The Jordan Group, who grew up in the community. “You have great neighbors. I just love it there. Residents pay homeowner’s association fees, and asking prices typically range from $350,000 to $550,000 for smaller three-bedroom homes and $600,000 to over $1 million for larger five-bedroom residences. According to the CAP Index Crime Score, Chenal Valley’s overall crime score is 2 out of 10, lower than the national average of 4.

Dining, golf and tennis at Chenal Country Club
Homes are purposefully situated within minutes of Chenal Country Club, which serves as the community’s social hub. Members can play a friendly round on one of its two 18-hole courses, sharpen their aim on the driving range or take a basket to the putting practice area. Every August, there’s The Hat Club Classic, a golf tournament that raises money for non-profit charity organizations. Chenal Valley Property Owners Association members get access to three parks — Chenonceau, Champagnolle and Chalamont — each with adult and baby pools, playgrounds and basketball courts. The public Wildwood Park for the Arts is just west of the country club. This 105-acre site offers botanical gardens, a 625-seat indoor theater, fishing at the adjacent Swan Lake, hiking and biking trails, and frequent events like nature camps.

Promenade at Chenal serves as a hub for shopping and dining
Promenade at Chenal, on Chenal Parkway, brims with familiar stores like Urban Outfitters, Lululemon and Bath & Body Works. This outdoor shopping destination also offers an IMAX theater and the state’s only Apple store. For dining, the Promenade has a handful of popular restaurants like YaYa’s Euro Bistro for Mediterranean cuisine and Local Lime for Mexican fare and margaritas. “It’s a really convenient place to live,” Jordan says. “You can drive your golf cart to the Promenade, eat dinner, and be back to your house in a minute and a half.” Along Cantrell Road, Izzy’s, a family-run diner, is known for its hot tamales, brick-oven pizzas and lemon pie. Customers can visit the eatery’s honeybee and monarch butterfly gardens while their food is being prepared. A grocery run can be easily handled at Walmart Supercenter on the same road.
