But in the spring of 2023, an EF-3 tornado badly damaged the space, which has been closed ever since. The park, surrounding Jackson Reservoir, had miles of wooded hiking trails, a playground, a pavilion, open fields and restrooms. Access to the reservoir is prohibited. City officials say it will cost at least $1 million to restore the space. The neighborhood of Echo Valley has a private park that includes tennis courts and a swimming pool.
