The heart of growing West Little Rock
Rock Creek is an area in the ever-growing West Little Rock region. This increasingly popular part of the city is known for its various housing options, from accessibly priced, midcentury properties to newly built, sprawling homes. The location also has quick access to state and city parks and the Arkansas River, as well as upscale dining, an array of shopping and easy highway access. “West Little Rock has been developing ever since I was a little kid, and it’s going to keep developing,” says Ray Ellen, Team Leader for Pixel Properties with REAL Brokerage and a lifelong Arkansas resident. “It’s a good mix of higher-end new homes and not as higher-end, older neighborhoods.”
Midcentury and modern alike in Rock Creek
Homes in Rock Creek range from two-story brick and wood structures from the 1970s and 1980s to newer traditional-style houses built in the 2000s. Single-family homes tend to range between $250,000 to $350,000. Several townhomes and condos are also available that usually cost around $100,000. Stand-alone homes typically have large front and backyards, wide patios and winding driveways shaded by oak and hickory trees, while condos and townhomes are built into tight communities along main roads. Some subdivisions of the neighborhood also have additional amenities, like Villages of Wellington, which provides its residents with a pool, tennis courts and a private lake.

Two Rivers Park is less than 10 miles to the north of Rock Creek and is a 1,000-acre stretch of gardens and paths along the Arkansas and Little Maumelle Rivers. River Mountain Park, a 10-mile system of mountain biking trails, is also built into Two Rivers. Pinnacle Mountain State Park off Chenal Parkway is 6 miles west of Two Rivers Park. The state park is filled with miles of hiking and mountain biking trails and access to the two nearby rivers for canoeing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. “In five minutes, I can be in my home in Little Rock to hiking the base of a mountain; it’s pretty rad,” says Ellen.

There are lots of local restaurants around, but most of the stores are chains. Not many mom-and-pop shops. There is a lot of variety in the stores though.
