Woodlands Edge
Enveloped by trees in Woodlands Edge
Woodlands Edge comprises nine subdivisions cocooned by 780 acres of hickory and pine trees. The community's hilly, narrow, winding roads lead to landscaped roundabouts adorned with flora and fauna. Most homes were built after 2005, and there has been an influx of newer, semi-custom-built developments constructed in 2023 and 2024. Contemporary and French Eclectic-inspired Craftsman and New Traditional residences are cushioned by sidewalks and complemented by long driveways and double-car garages. These properties are constructed with brick and stone and typically start at 2,000 square feet and reach over 4,000 square feet. Prices can range from $280,000 for a modest three-bedroom needing updates to $1.1 million for a move-in ready four-bedroom.Catch-and-release fishing at Wilson Lake
The Woodlands Edge Community Center is tucked away in the heart of the neighborhood on Woodlands Trail. The center offers a pool, clubhouse picnic shelters and a playground for kids to play in a place not too far from home. Behind this community hub is the 3.5-acre Wilson Lake, ready for catch-and-release angling and surrounded by 6 miles of trails connected to a dense, native forest. "It's very pretty because they didn't chop all the trees down when making it," says Robinson. Just 9 miles south is Carter's Off-Road Park, where Little Rock natives get dirty riding through the mud on over 4,000 obstacle courses.Shopping at Promenade at Chenal
Nearby, Shackleford Crossings offers Walmart for super quick grocery trips. On Chenal Parkway and South Bowman Road are Sam's Club, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Best Buy and a slew of restaurants. Just 4 miles North, Promenade at Chenal is an open-air shopping district known for its French Gothic architecture. This walkable retail corridor is home to a mix of upscale boutiques and familiar brands, a movie theater and patio-side dining. "There is an Aldi opening up there pretty soon. We also have Park Plaza Mall, which isn't too far away. The Outlets at Little Rock will be a bit longer of a drive," Robinson says. Closer to the neighborhood, Milford Track is a popular spot for American breakfast and lunch with lake views. On South Shackleford Road, Tacos 4 Life is a modern taqueria popularized for its community service program that gives children in need a free meal with every meal purchase.College prep at Joe T. Robinson High School
The Pulaski County Special School District educates around 12,000 students with a grade of B-minus on Niche. Woodlands Edge's youngest students commute 2 miles north to A-minus rated Baker Elementary, which offers a before- and after-school program. Joe T. Robinson Middle earns a B, and the high school earns a B-minus. The latter allows students to enroll in their Driven: School of Innovation program, providing educational pathways that align with post-grad career goals.Teeing it up at Top Golf
The neighborhood has several events yearly, including an Easter Egg Hunt, a community barbecue, Deck the Yard and Santa's Workshop in December. In Shackleford Crossings, Main Event Little Rock is an arcade with everything from virtual reality experiences to laser tag, mini-golf and bowling. Next door, Village of Screams Haunted Houses is open through late September to the end of October for three terrifying experiences. Just south of the community, locals can tee it up at Topgolf or fly high at Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park on South Bowman Road.Close to Interstate 630
Woodlands Edge stays true to its name, located on the edge of West Little Rock, but is still well connected to the rest of the city. Major roadways include Arkansas 300 to the south, Interstate 430 to the east, connecting to Interstate 630. This thoroughfare connects residents to downtown in just 10 miles, making the trip about fifteen minutes. An arrangement of doctor, corporate and municipal offices are along Executive Center Drive, so some residents don't even have to get on a highway for work. Woodlands Edge is just 4 miles from Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock and 22 miles from Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.
