Secluded Hamptons neighborhood with bayside woodlands
Northwest Harbor is referred to as Northwest Woods by locals due to its dense forest cover. Located on a peninsula in Gardiners Bay, just north of East Hampton Village, the neighborhood is surrounded by beaches, natural harbors, marinas and woodland trails. “Buyers looking in this area want the seclusion of large two to three-acre lots but with the proximity to commercial areas like Sag Harbor and East Hampton Village,” says Doug Sabo, head realtor of the Doug Sabo team at Nest Seekers International and a local expert. “Both are around a 10-minute drive.”

Large contemporary mansions and characterful bungalows
“You get a 6,000 square-foot house for slightly less than in more upmarket ‘south of the highway’ parts of The Hamptons, those areas closer to the Atlantic Ocean,” Sabo says. These remote Contemporary and Postmodern mansions with updated features range from $3.5 million to $12 million, depending on size, amenities, distance from other properties and proximity to water. Mid-range colonial revivals and midcentury modern houses fetch between $1.4 million and $2.8 million. Smaller Salt Box-style, Cape Cod and Ranch-style bungalows closer to Springy Banks Road and Three Mile Harbor but also East Hampton North come in at $600,000 to $1.6 million.
