South Valley is an unincorporated hamlet in the Town of Hempstead on Long Island.

The area offers Cape Cod and ranch-style homes with yards on streets shaded by mature trees. Prices typically range from around $550,000 to $1.1 million. Markets all over Long Island continue to experience low inventory and high demand, and South Valley Stream is no different. “Sellers are still getting a good amount of money for their homes, and there are definitely buyers out there,” Cherubin says. Pricing is key, she adds, noting that a home that’s priced right will find a buyer quickly. Valley Stream South High School starts with seventh grade and gets an A minus on Niche. “It’s a close-knit community. Everyone’s pretty much involved if they have school-age children,” Cherubin says.
