Lanyon
A mix of housing options
Homes in Lanyon are lined along narrow residential streets with alleyway access and are surrounded by mature trees. “A nice thing about the neighborhood is that it’s got some mixed demographics. A majority of the homes are single-family, but you’ll see some multi-family options like condos too,” Hansard says. Brick ranch-style homes built in the 1970s are common, alongside contemporary single-story homes with brightly colored exteriors. These houses span 1,450 to 4,200 square feet and range from $475,000 to $725,000. Additionally, a handful of ranch-style homes have been converted into duplexes that go for similar prices for both units. Craftsman homes built in the 1980s to 1990s with multiple front gables and pointed roofs are also priced between $500,000 and $650,000. Multi-story townhouses and traditional condos span 900 to 1,200 square feet and cost $275,000 to $380,000.Getting educated in the Saint Vrain Valley

Students can either start at Alpine and move on to Timberline or go to Timberline for grades kindergarten through eight – depending on where they live in the neighborhood. Skyline High School maintains a B grade and offers STEM and Visual Performing Arts academies.Neighborhood parks and facilities
While most of Lanyon is comprised of residential homes, there are a handful of green spaces in the neighborhood. Lanyon Park has a playground, multi-use fields, a basketball court and a baseball diamond, as well as the Oligarchy Ditch where cottonwood and willow trees line each side of its stream. “Lanyon Park is cute. The local baseball association plays games there, so that brings people to the neighborhood,” Hansard says. Down the road, the Rough and Ready Park sits along a different water stream that shares the same name. Rough and Ready has a skate park, bocce ball courts, horseshoe pits and an off-leash dog area. About 3 miles east of the neighborhood is the public City of Longmont’s Ute Creek Golf Course with its 18 holes.Retail and restaurant options on Main Street

On the other side of Main Street, additional restaurant options include Pistachio Cafe Bakery and Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. King Soopers and Natural Grocers are both nearby.Lanyon’s multiple modes of transportation

The Ute Highway, also known as Colorado State Highway 66, has access directly north of the neighborhood. US Route 287, known as Main Street, is to the west.
