You’re minutes away from the famed Rock City Gardens, but peak tourism can make the area quite busy. Residents of Hinkles have plenty of hiking trails at their disposal that don’t get as much foot traffic, such as the winding path through the woods that leads to Lula Lake and Lula Falls. Just south of Hinkles is also Cloud Canyon State Park, where a deep gorge provides breathtaking views, and there are multiple waterfalls to visit.

If planning to live atop the mountain, keep in mind that Hinkles doesn’t have any commercial areas. Anything you’ll need for errand runs will be found in the valley below, but it’s hardly a long haul. You’re only minutes away from popping into the local grocery store, taking the car to the shop or finding necessities such as gas stations and pharmacies.
