Bashford Manor has a mix of well-built midcentury homes and several established condominium communities. Brick ranch-style homes with wood floors, modest footprints and fenced backyards are prominent among the single-family options. Some have been fully renovated with modern finishes, while others still carry their original details and are priced accordingly. Home prices typically range from the from the low 100,000s to the low 300,000s, while condos range from around 30,000 to the mid-100,000s. While single-family prices are comparable to neighboring Bon Air, the abundance of lower-priced multifamily options results in a median sales price in the mid-$100,000s. That is about 40 percent lower than Bon Air’s median and about 45 percent lower than the citywide median. “There's a mix of renters and owners here, but because of the prices, it would invite a lot more investors and renters to this area,” says Bob Sokoler, a veteran of the Louisville real estate market.

Interstate connections to downtown and the airport
Interstate 264 runs along Bashford Manor’s north side and connects on either side of the neighborhood to Interstates 64 and 65. Residents can take either to get downtown. The commute via I-65 is shorter, about 9 miles, and more direct, but it takes about 25 minutes. The 12-mile commute via I-64 can be made in under 20 minutes. Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, a major jobs hub along I-264, is much closer. The 4-mile commute can be made in about 10 minutes. Residents are also close to the industry-heavy city of Watterson Park. Transit Authority of River City buses provide alternative transportation to local points of interest, including shopping centers and hospitals.

Bashford Manor is part of Jefferson County Public Schools. Assigned schools include Goldsmith Elementary School, Highland Middle School and Seneca High School, but the district's school-choice model allows students to apply for magnet schools and other specialized programs. Nearby Atherton High School, which earns an A from Niche, is the only public school in Louisville offering the International Baccalaureate program for all students. Private options in the area include Assumption High School. The all-girls Catholic institution also earns an A from Niche.
Seneca High School is part of the Jefferson County Public Schools district that serves the area.
