Historical meets trendy 15 minutes from Louisville
Crescent Hill, 15 minutes from Louisville, is a trendy area with a rich history. Dating back to the 1780s, Crescent Hill boasts homes over one hundred years old and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Crescent Hill’s railroad brought prominent families to the area, like tobacco trader, Joseph Peterson, who built a summer home that still stands today. The Peterson-Dumesnil House, one of many historic homes in the area, is an 1869 31-acre Italian villa that was placed on the National Historic Register in 1976 and is now used as a local event space. Crescent Hill may date back to the Colonial era, but many modern amenities and several art galleries can be found lining the trendy Frankfort Ave. “People move here for the lifestyle rather than the location,” says Jane Rose-Zupetz, broker/agent with Semonin Realtors. “They live and work here, and they tend to stay.”
Around 1875 the land in Crescent Hill was subdivided into lots and sold to the public.
