But residents in Taylor Berry, located immediately west of the well-known Churchill Downs racecourse, know their part of town as a conveniently placed residential hub with a resilient spirit. A tight grid of modestly sized homes points to the neighborhood’s origins as a streetcar suburb for turn-of-the-century citizens. "The area is growing in desirability because of Churchill Downs. Caring community centers and thrilling theme park rides
The South Louisville Community Center provides exercise equipment, a gym, an indoor walking track and other amenities. The community center also hosts the Dare to Care Kids Café for children to receive warm evening meals and participate in after-school programs five days a week for free. The parks nearby offer reliable options for green space when Taylor Berry residents want to enjoy some outdoor time.
