Homes as low as $100,000 to $1 million
Coronado offers a broad range of home sizes and prices, from compact investment properties as low as $100,000 to million-dollar homes. Single-story homes, duplexes and townhomes are common in the area, and many homes are advertised as starter homes, investment properties or housing for college students at Texas Tech University. Modest two- or three-bedroom homes typically under 2,300 square feet can range from $100,000 to $230,000, while homes with 2,400 square feet or more can range from $250,000 to $480,000. Larger lot sizes and sprawling homes in gated communities come with a higher price tag, ranging from $625,000 to more than $1.5 million.Highly rated schools in Lubbock ISD and close to higher education
Kids can attend Rush Elementary School, which receives an A-minus from Niche, before heading to the B-plus Evans Middle School. Adventure Park is located in the neighborhood and offers more than 20 acres of thrilling fun for kids and families. Outdoor and indoor adventures await, including rope courses, go-karts, a ninja obstacle course and zip lines. During the summer, adults can enjoy drinks and live music in the park at Thirsty Garden. Maxey Park borders the neighborhood and offers a host of amenities. The park is home to a completely ADA-accessible playground and five play areas. Parents cheer on Little League games at the baseball and softball fields, and anglers can cast a line off the fishing dock into the pond when water levels allow. The Maxey Community Center has outdoor circuit fitness equipment that’s free to use, and the center hosts year-round classes for kids, adults and seniors alike. The community center also hosts special seasonal events like an Easter egg hunt for pups and breakfast with Santa.Close to two major shopping corridors
The neighborhood is bordered by Slide Road and 34th Street, two major corridors for shopping and dining. “It’s centrally located between everything you could possibly want in the city,” Howell says. Residents can grab groceries in the neighborhood at Market Street or take 34th Street a few miles west to get to big box stores like Costco, Cabela’s, Marshalls and HomeGoods. A short drive on the Marsha Sharp Freeway connects shoppers to Sam’s Club, Target and Ulta. Residents can start the day at Gold Stripe Coffee Roasters, a locally owned coffee shop. Lantern Tavern is located on Slide Road and is a neighborhood hang-out spot for brews and burgers with a dog-friendly patio.Easy access to the Marsha Sharp Freeway
The Marsha Sharp Freeway runs east to west through Lubbock and intersects the neighborhood. The freeway connects to Loop 289, which circles the city. Residents can drive or hop on a Citibus, which has several stops on 19th Street to the north and 34th Street to the south.
