A welcoming atmosphere and a broad range of homes
Named after the Spanish explorer who traveled to Lubbock in 1540, Coronado is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Lubbock. The community is located less than 4 miles west of Texas Tech University and 5 miles from downtown Lubbock. The Medical District is also next door to the neighborhood. College students, first-time homeowners and investors flock to Coronado for its central location, cost-effective homes and neighborly vibes. “It’s a quiet neighborhood. There’s some traffic, but you feel like you’re very much at home compared to other neighborhoods where you’re kind of skeptical,” says Zach Howell, an agent with Reside Real Estate Co. who lives in the neighboring community of Bowie. “There’s never been a day that we felt unsafe or anything like that. Being in the Coronado area there, you know you can let your kids out to walk to school … you have that peace of mind as a homeowner in that area that you’re safe.”
