Named after the Spanish explorer who traveled to Lubbock in 1540, Coronado is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Lubbock. The community is located less than 4 miles west of Texas Tech University and 5 miles from downtown Lubbock. The Medical District is also next door to the neighborhood.
