Planned south Lubbock golf course community
The homes that make up LakeRidge Country Club Estates are part of Lubbock’s first community built around a golf course. First developed in 1977, the neighborhood boasts some of Lubbock’s finest homes along and borders the growing commercial thoroughfares of 82nd and 98th Streets where restaurants and businesses continue to support the area. “LakeRidge has a country club, it's got a really nice golf course and some bigger homes. And it's also an established neighborhood," says Justin Lowrey, a Realtor with The Whisenhunt Group at Keller Williams. "The trees have had time to grow up there. And it feeds into Preston Smith, which is another really good elementary school in Lubbock."
World class golf and amenities
LakeRidge Country Club’s championship course was designed by famed PGA Tour professionals Billy Martindale and Don January and features mature trees, rolling fairways, vast greens and bodies of water. The club also has a junior Olympic size pool with diving boards and a toddler pool for the younger ones. LakeRidge has four outdoor tennis courts and two indoor courts for year-round play. Just north of the neighborhood, Jan Jennings Park has volleyball courts and a fishing pond.

Ranch-style havens to grand estates backing onto fairways
Most houses in the neighborhood were built in the 1980s and '90s and average around $450,000, with a blend of prices and styles depending on location. “It's not like they’re brand-new homes, but they are definitely some of the bigger ones,” Lowrey says. "They still go for probably half a million dollars, some even a little bit more than that. Which for Lubbock, average home prices are about $248,000, I believe." Ranch-style houses are generally priced between $200,000 and $500,000, with examples featuring at least three bedrooms and around 2,000 square feet starting in the low $300,000s. Larger homes with neoclassical and New Traditional designs typically range from $500,000 to $900,000. On the high end, a few sprawling estates can run between $1 million and $2 million.
