Waterfront properties in a tight-knit Bay County community
Hurricane Michael roared through Lynn Haven in 2018, leveling most of it. But thanks to the work of locals, and a healthy dose of federal aid, this city of 19,000 has been able to build itself back better than ever, with facelifts for existing buildings and parks, roads widen to alleviate traffic and amenities added to improve the quality of life. “You ask anyone, and they’ll say they say it’s the number one place they want to move to,” says Michael Werner, a Realtor with Keller Williams Success Realty. Werner sells primarily in Lynn Haven and has been a resident since 2007. “The housing market is good, there’s a lot of waterfront property, the schools are good. It’s not a big metro area. You get a small, hometown feel but with all the modern amenities you’d expect.”

Ranch-style, New Traditional and custom homes throughout the city
Residential sections are mainly on the city’s north side and offer a mix of suburban and rural living. Gridded streets are lined with single-family homes sitting on grass-filled lots. Architectural styles include ranch homes built between the 1960s and 1980s and New Traditional builds from the 2000s. Streets often lack sidewalks but are spacious enough for an evening walk. Many homes are separated by trees and undeveloped lots, giving residents an extra layer of privacy. Homes near the North Bay and Anderson Bayou are often custom-built, boasting water views and private docks. The median price for single-family homes is around $350,000, slightly higher than nearby Panama City. Townhouses, most built in the 2000s, are also available with a median sale price of about $250,000.

Children attend Bay District Schools
Bay District Schools serves the city and rates a B-plus on Niche. The district offers school choice, which includes a virtual school. While there are no private schools in the city, Panama City Advanced School is located nearby and rates a B on Niche. Haney Technical College is located on the city’s south side, and several higher education options are available in nearby Panama City.
A. Crawford Mosley High School, located in Lynn Haven, has an A- score on Niche.

Lynn Haven has multiple parks with amenities like multi-use fields, playgrounds and dog parks. Nature lovers head to Lynn Haven Bayou Park & Preserve for its fitness trails near the water, playground and outdoor classroom, a popular spot for school field trips. Golfers tee off at Panama Country Club, a private course and Nature Walk Golf Course, a semi-private facility. Boaters have easy access to North Bay, which hugs the city on the north and west sides.

Convenient shopping and dining
Near 17th Street, Lynn Haven Parkway is lined with grocery stores, national retailers and a mix of chain and locally owned restaurants. “The shopping is great. You’re not far from anything,” Werner says.” Residents who do want to venture out for additional shopping, dining and entertainment options head to nearby Panama City, which is about 7 miles away.
While there are no hospitals in the city, HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital and HCA Florida Panama City Emergency are in Panama City, along with various medical and dental offices.
HCA Gulf Coast Hospital is the only hospital located in Lynn Haven.
The Wild Root Coffee Shop offers delicios hand made coffee drinks as well as a comfortable place to work or relax.

The city offers multiple events throughout the year, including a Martin Luther King Jr. Festival that features speakers and food trucks, the Easter egg hunt at A.L. Kinsaul Park and a popular Christmas.

Transportation options include highways, buses and airplanes
Lynn Haven Parkway runs through the city’s center and leads into Panama City. The Bayway bus line stops along several major thoroughfares. Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport is about 17 miles away and offers domestic flights.
Highway 77 leads travelers in and through the middle of Lynn Haven.
