East Lynn
Older home styles in a walkable neighborhood
In East Lynn, there are traditional single-family homes converted into two-bedroom units and refurbished Victorian properties with bay windows from the late 1800s. There is some variety in architecture, but many homes are colonial style, including a few mansard roof colonials from the early 1900s. Most of East Lynn’s deciduous tree-shaded streets also have sidewalks, making this community a very walkable one. Homes here tend to stay on the market for about three weeks and typically sell for between $400,000 to $700,000.Served by Lynn Public Schools
Students in East Lynn attend Lynn Public Schools. Brickett Elementary School, which gets a C-minus grade from Niche, and Thurgood Marshall Middle School, which also has a C-minus, may be where kids start their education here. Students who attend Marshall have the added benefit of working with a faculty member to set personal goals and connect their classroom learning to life success. Students may then attend Lynn English High School with a C grade.Recreation on land and on the water
East Lynn has a couple of green spaces for its residents to get out and enjoy nature. Kiley Park has play equipment, athletic fields and a splash pad in the summer. Goldfish Pond, established in 1870, is maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers. The group organizes annual events such as planting day, flea markets and a duck race. Residents also have access to several sandy beaches along Nahant Bay, including Nahant Beach and Lynn Beach.Vinnin Square Plaza and local markets are close by
Vinnin Square Plaza is the closest shopping center and offers a Whole Foods Market, CVS and Petco. There are a few spots within walking distance for taking care of everyday needs like CVS, 7-Eleven and Richdale Convenience Store. Residents can also grab a cup of coffee at Nina's Market on Essex Street. Sofia’s Market on Lewis Street is another small local grocer with a host of fresh produce and pre-packaged goods. Enjoy a classic Mexican dish at Casa Amelia, dine on Dominican cuisine at Rincon Macorisano or select from gourmet salads and sandwiches at Christopher’s Café on Lewis Street. The neighborhood is also home to several pizza shops and a Dunkin Donuts.Easy place to walk, drive or take public transportation
The neighborhood’s densely packed urban streets mean it’s easily bikeable and walkable, but you may still want to have a car to get to the rest of the surrounding area. East Lynn is also served by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority with a commuter rail line, and there are several bus stops throughout the neighborhood as well.
