Public parks and playgrounds around Lower Boston
The community is surrounded by various city parks and playgrounds. Breed Park borders the west side of the neighborhood and has a baseball field, basketball and tennis courts for children to play, run around and burn off energy. Young soccer players who joined Lynn Youth Soccer can head to the nearby Hood Playground for games and practices. Several blocks away, Barry Park has another athletic field, open green space and play structures. Additional sports fields such as Manning Field, Fraser Field and Gallagher Park are around the east side of the neighborhood. Lynn Common, which is southeast of the community, has an expansive green stretch for picnics and is home to community events such as the local farmers market. For those seeking a more complete outdoor respite, the 2,200 acres Lynn Woods Reservation is 4 miles north and is the second largest municipal park in the United States. Popular locally as a place for dog walking and workout runs, the park offers abundant outdoor recreation, including 30 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking and cross-country skiing.Victorian-era single-family and multi-family homes in Lynn
The neighborhood’s long streets are lined with sidewalks, making it easy for morning runs or evening walks around the block. Dating between 1870 and 1950, many area homes are Dutch Colonials, Craftsman bungalows, ranch styles or traditional houses with raised foundations, porticos connected to the front yard by staircases, pillared balconies or protruding windows. While most single-family homes fall between $400,000 and $650,000, there are a handful of larger remodeled properties fetching around $800,000. Entire multi-family structures that have five to seven units are usually around $700,000 to $1 million. Lot sizes can be as small as 1,000 square feet, with the average around 4,000 to 6,000 square feet. “We’re in a low inventory market,” Tran says. “First-time home buyers are the biggest buyer pool, so there’s still a lot of demand for a quicker sale at a lower price point.”Lynn Public Schools
There are a number of public schools around the community, including Lincoln-Thompson Elementary School and Fallon Elementary School, both of which have a C Niche grade. Tracy Elementary School scores a C-minus, and Breed Middle School is rated C. Classical High School has a B-minus on Niche and partners with North Shore Community College and Salem State University for its Early College and Early College Promise programs, which help students earn college credits or even an associate degree while still in high school. North Shore Community College, located 2 miles east, offers over 70 one-year certificate programs and two-year associate degrees to its student population.Restaurants around Lower Boston Street

MarketStreet Lynnfield, which is about 6 miles north, has over 80 retailers, restaurants, Whole Foods Market and a winter ice-skating rink.Proximity to the Boston metropolis
Although the community is largely connected by sidewalks, most people still drive their cars for errands or work commutes. Massachusetts Route 1A is south of the community, and people can drive for 10 or 12 miles southbound to reach Boston or the Boston Logan International Airport. About 2 miles east in downtown, there is a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter rail stop at Lynn Interim Station, and the Newburyport/Rockport Line can take commuters directly to Boston’s North Station in three stops. Additionally, MBTA bus stops are available for those who need to go downtown or to neighboring towns or cities. Salem Hospital is about 5 miles northeast in the neighboring city of Salem.City-wide celebrations in Lynn
