These establishments vary from national chains to homegrown businesses. “The international food in Lynnwood is incredible, you can find any food from any region,” Bush says. Moonshine BBQ is just that: moonshine-based cocktails with trendy barbeque dishes. Modoo Korean Restaurant serves traditional Korean food like bibimbap, and bulgogi in a modern interior. Around 2 miles away is the Alderwood Mall, a popular indoor-outdoor shopping destination for residents on the northside of the Puget Sound. The retail includes a collection of national and smaller brands like Macy’s, H&M and JCPenney. Along Pacific Highway, there is a Costco Warehouse and PetSmart. For groceries, there’s a Fred Meyer and Trader Joe’s.

Most of the residential section sits north of 194th Street and west of 46th Avenue. Maple Leaf residents are also close to plenty of community events. Fair on 44th is the city’s most popular block party in September. Families can spend an afternoon exploring the city’s health and safety resources and even receive free health screenings. Celebrate! is the city’s summer kickoff concert. Home to Lynnwood's first park
Wilcox Park is Lynnwood’s first park. The 7-acre park has a basketball court, playground, and a display of 27 flags. These 27 flags represent the thirteen original colonies and the state incorporations thereafter. Scriber Lake Park, just south of the neighborhood, has several walking paths and trails that explore the area’s habitat and nature. Maple Leaf is also home to the Lynnwood Recreation Center, which has activities for all ages and skill levels. “The Lynnwood Recreation Center has an indoor pool, and it’s packed in the summertime and school breaks,” Jordan says. Visitors can participate in group fitness classes and safety courses. Golfers can play a round of 18 at the Lynnwood Golf Course.

Bordered by Highway 99
Highway 99 and Interstate 5 provide direct routes to Seattle and Everett, which are 16 and 14 miles away, respectively. Seattle traffic may increase commuting time. The Lynnwood Light Rail Station is a mile away. This public transportation option provides direct access to Seattle. Multiple bus routes have stops along 196th Street and Pacific Highway. Air travel can be done at Paine Field in Everett, which has direct flights to seven West Coast cities like Los Angeles and Phoenix. The Seattle International Airport is also 34 miles south for flights to 94 domestic cities.
Split between two elementary schools
Kindergarten through sixth-grade students may split between two schools: Cedar Valley Elementary and Lynnwood Elementary. Students with addresses west of 52nd Avenue will be assigned to Cedar Valley, a C-rated school. Students with addresses west of 52nd Avenue can go to Lynnwood Elementary, a B-minus rated school by Niche. Alderwood Middle receives a B-minus on Niche and serves seventh and eighth-grade students. Lynnwood High receives a B-plus from Niche. They had several STEAM pathways for career courses, including Environmental Science, Advanced Manufacturing, Computer Science and Engineering and Health Sciences.
