Situated on Lynnwood’s west side, Parkdale is a small suburban neighborhood with convenient access to the rest of the city. Residents can easily drive to Lynnwood’s most popular parks, shopping and events, and commuters have multiple modes of transportation to reach their jobs. “An attractive thing about Lynnwood is that it’s easy to get anywhere. You can get to the 405, which takes you to the East Side to Bellevue. The [Interstate] 5 takes you to Downtown Seattle,” says Bill Jordan, real estate broker at Century 21 Real Estate. Within the neighborhood are 20th-century homes with manicured landscaping on quiet streets.

Houses in Parkdale are tightly packed together, sitting on lots of less than a quarter-acre. This neighborhood also has a wide selection of mid-20th century homes. “Most homes around there are from the 50s to the 70s, but you can find just about everything in style,” Jordan says. Bi-levels and rambler homes have front lawns with large hedges and paved driveways to garages. Sidewalks stretch along busy corridors like 64th Avenue and 68th Avenue, and smaller residential streets end in cul-de-sacs. Prices range from $560,000 to $825,000.

Home to Daleway Park
At the center of the neighborhood is the 22-acre Daleway Park, known for its spray park, basketball courts, nature trails and playground. West of the neighborhood is Lynndale Park, which also spans 22 acres; visitors can stroll or jog along the nature trails and pathways. Dogs can exercise in the off-leash area, and skaters can show off their tricks a skate park area. Shakespeare plays are performed during the summertime at the park’s amphitheater. South of the neighborhood, the public Lynnwood Municipal Golf Course is open year-round, as is the nearby Lynnwood Ice Center, home to several hockey leagues.

3 miles from Alderwood Mall shopping
Lynnwood has a growing food scene, and Parkdale residents are less than 3 miles from most of the city’s most popular establishments. Along Pacific Highway is a collection of national retailers, chains and small businesses. Rinconcito Peruano Restaurant serves Peruvian food for brunch and dinner, and Peace of Mind Brewing has over a dozen locally brewed draft beers. AzteCalli's food truck specializes in Mexican food and is parked outside the brewery daily. The B3 Breakfast and Burger is a trendy brunch eatery with waffles, omelets and Monte Cristos. The Alderwood Mall is the premier shopping destination for residents on the north side of Puget Sound; it has more than 170 shops and restaurants, including Macy’s, JCPenney and Urban Outfitters. Other shopping centers include big box stores like Target, Costco and Lowe’s. The neighborhood has several stores, including Hobby Lobby, PetSmart and Costco. Locals can pick up groceries at Trader Joe’s or Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Three miles from the Celebrate! concert
Celebrate! is the city’s annual summer kickoff concert, bringing the community together for a night of tunes, food trucks and drinks. “Right now, we bring in Seattle-based and local up-and-coming artists,” says Ryan Bush, project/tourism manager at the City of Lynnwood. “The attendance increases every year, and this past year [2024], we had over 5,000 people.” Fair on 44th is the city’s annual health fair and community gathering on 44th Avenue, a mile away. The afternoon event held in September includes various food trucks, live music and vendors. Community members can also learn about the city’s health resources and receive free health screenings.
Short distance from all modes of transportation
Parkdale borders Highway 99 or Pacific Highway, which provides a direct route to Seattle. Drivers can head east on 196th Street to merge onto Interstate 5, a major west coast highway. The 5 takes drivers 18 miles to downtown Seattle, and Interstate 405 connects neighbors to Bellevue 21 miles away. Public transportation is available via bus and train; Community Transit has multiple bus routes on 196th Street and Highway 99. The Lynnwood Light rail has a stop 2 miles away for direct access to downtown Seattle and the Seattle-Tacoma (SeaTac) International Airport. The SeaTac Airport, 28 miles south, has flights to over 120 domestic and international cities. The Paine Field Airport is in Everett, 8 miles north, offering flights to several West Coast cities.

Students can start their education at Lynndale Elementary, rated B by Niche. Afterwards, students attend Meadowdale Middle, another B-rated school with nine after-school clubs. Meadowdale High is rated B-plus; it offers career courses for automotive technology and health care. Nearby Edmonds College offers over 50 associate’s degree and certificate programs.
