Living close to shops, restaurants and commuter routes
Gordons Corner is a favored neighborhood in Manalapan Township for its access to U.S. Route 9 and nearby commercial centers. Homes surround strip malls and shopping centers that border Route 9. “The residents make Manalapan special,” says Jeanette Toro, the Assistant to the Administration and Governing Body and Social Media Coordinator for Manalapan Township. “It truly is a tight-knit community that looks out for each other.” While residents have easy access to amenities, the community also participates in annual summer camps and events at the Manalapan Recreation Center.
Quick access to locally owned restaurants
Many of the restaurants and shops along Route 9 are locally owned, like Anemos Greek Cuisine, which serves classic Mediterranean dishes for lunch and dinner. “There is no shortage of restaurants in Manalapan Township,” Toro says. “There are too many to list, but there is something for everyone in town. We also have many local markets, as well as supermarkets where groceries can be purchased.” Mezza Luna offers Italian surf and turf, pasta and specialty pizzas for a casual night out. California Cold Co. is a popular coffee shop with a rotating seasonal menu. Trader Joe’s sells groceries, but many residents drive a mile north to shop at Wegmans or Netcost Market. Maple Leaf Farms is a country store and garden center that opens seasonally and stays stocked with locally made products and plants grown in the fields behind the store. However, Maple Leaf Farm is best known for its holiday events, including the Christmas Wonderland, where the store is filled with large displays featuring animatronics and character meet-and-greets.
Blue lighting at the bar of Anemos Greek Cuisine creates an ambiance of Mediterranean sophistication.
In the corner of Gordons Corner, the Yorktowne Center has many shops and the Locals Bar for live entertainment.
