Taylors Mills is a quiet suburban neighborhood within Manalapan Township, bordering the Englishtown borough. “We like to describe Manalapan Township as a great place to live,” says Jeannette Toro, the Assistant to the Administration and Governing Body and Social Media Coordinator for Manalapan Township. “It is a family-friendly community that is beautifully maintained and in close proximity to the beaches, as well as New York City.” Many homes are close to Temple Beth Shalom, which hosts a Jewish Enrichment Program and recurring community events, and the Manalapan Recreation Center. Like many neighborhoods in Manalapan, Taylors Mills is favored for its spacious homes and commuting routes that lead toward Manhattan, New York. The access to a community park and events, along with a neighborly attitude, makes Taylors Mills a welcoming place to call home.
A-minus rated schools in Manalapan Township
Many residents move to Manalapan Township for the schools, and the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District receives a B from Niche. Children are zoned for nearby elementary schools based on their home addresses. Some kids may attend Taylor Mills School or Wemrock Brook School, both of which earn A-minus ratings. Exploring Manalapan Recreation Center and Monmouth Battlefield State Park
The Manalapan Recreation Center is one of the most popular amenities in the township. It’s the largest park in Manalapan Township, spanning over 93 acres, with fields and paved courts. The center also hosts summer camps for children. “Our recreation department also has multiple events that they do yearly, including Easter Egg hunts, Monster Mania Halloween events and sporting events, just to name a few,” Toro says. The historic Monmouth Battlefield State Park offers 25 miles of roadways and hiking paths. Every third week in June, history buffs re-enact the Battle of Monmouth, which took place on the park grounds June 28, 1778. The two-day event includes food vendors, camp tours and a battle recreation. During the summers, many drive 25 miles to the Jersey shore to sunbathe or swim in the Atlantic Ocean.
One of the best aspects of Monmouth Battlefield State Park is the access to fun fishing.

Manalapan Arts Council events
The Manalapan Arts Council hosted its first Summer Concert and Car Show at the Manalapan Recreation Center in 2024 Monmouth County Library Headquarters offers indoor activities when the weather drops below freezing, including movie matinees and writing groups.
Commuting along Route 9 to Manhattan
Manhattan workers hop on Route 9 to connect onto the Garden State Parkway during their 50-mile commute north. A drive to New York can take roughly an hour, though traffic can cause delays. Anyone who relies on public transportation can catch an NJ Transit bus to New York City. Newark Liberty International Airport is over 30 miles from the neighborhood, about a 40-minute drive with light traffic. CentraState Medical Center is closer to home, about 7 miles south.
Shopping and dining at Manalapan EpiCentre
Taylors Mills is close to shopping centers along Route 9, including the busy Manalapan EpiCentre, with its chain restaurants and department stores, such as Crumbl, Applebee’s and Best Buy. Residents pick up groceries at the nearby Wegmans.
With an Irish flair to many of the meals at the Olde Silver Tavern in Taylors Mills, the food and atmosphere are delightful.
Groceries from Wegman's are at the edge of the Lafayette Mills neighborhood in the Manalapan EpiCentre.
