The neighborhood was built around the Quarry Pines Golf Club’s 18 holes and clubhouse, which is like a community center. The clubhouse has a pro shop and houses Putters Grill, a relaxed restaurant with a patio overlooking the greens. “Many Tucson courses are just flat, and either desert or just links, but Quarry Pines incorporates everything,” says Tim Walter, an associate broker with Diamondbak Real Estate with over six years of experience. “It was built in an abandoned quarry, so there’s a lot of elevation changes and it adds character to the golf course.” Although some properties have private pools, The Pines subdivision has a neighborhood pool and park behind its gated entrance. Just over 2 miles away, the Crossroads at Silverbell District Park has a dog park, splash pad and sports facilities. Little League baseball teams utilize the park’s diamonds, and recreational soccer leagues compete on multi-use fields. Cul-de-sacs in and around The Pines subdivision have many single- and two-story adobe homes. Properties in The Pines are overseen by a homeowners association, requiring monthly payments of about $50 to $70 to fund maintenance of shared spaces and streets. Cyclists can access the city by The Loop, a 138-mile protected bike path across Tucson with an access point just south of the neighborhood.
