Shiloh Valley
Neighborhood in Marietta, Georgia
Cobb County 30066, 30144
Subdivisions of detached and townhome suburban developments
Shiloh Valley is laid out in hilly loops and cul-de-sacs that are often lined with sidewalks, decorative white fences and lush landscaping, a look that is popular in communities developed in the 2000s and 2010s. Detached new traditional homes with more than four bedrooms dominate many subdivisions, selling for $475,000 to $645,000. Others are full of smaller townhomes built in the early 2000s that sell for $330,000 to $340,000. Homeowner association fees vary for buyers interested in the two main housing styles; while single-family homeowners will pay around $50 per month, those living in townhomes are charged closer to $450. Most residents rent rather than own their homes, thanks to Shiloh Valley’s higher-density apartment complexes.Shiloh Valley’s shared athletic amenities
It’s a short walk or drive to Shiloh Valley Circle, a central roadway that surrounds the community’s shared recreation spaces. Four courts cater to tennis and pickleball players, and other athletes play pick-up games on the nearby basketball court. Next to a small playground, neighbors can throw pool parties or swim laps in the outdoor pool. A thick tree canopy, walking paths lined with benches and beds of well-landscaped shrubbery make the area look and feel like a classic community park. The Halston Shiloh Valley apartments have their own collection of sports courts and a smaller swimming pool. A lack of through-traffic means that even on neighborhood roads without sidewalks, residents are often walking or biking around Shiloh Valley.High ratings and reconstruction at Cobb County schools
Bells Ferry Elementary School earns an A-minus from Niche, as does Daniell Middle School. Sprayberry High School also earns an A-minus and is undergoing a more than $70 million full reconstruction until 2027. Beyond general maintenance and structural upgrades, Sprayberry’s renovation is slated to enhance the high school’s career, technical and agricultural education program. Once the new building is open, students will have modern classrooms and facilities for exploring fields from health care science to engineering and culinary arts.Driving down Interstate 75 to Atlanta and other northern suburban hubs
Interstate 75 runs by Shiloh Valley’s east side, taking commuters on a roughly 25-mile drive to Atlanta. Other big employers are less than 5 miles away in the northern Atlanta metro area suburbs, including Kennesaw’s collection of manufacturing, aerospace and bioscience employers that cluster north of Ernest W. Barrett Parkway and Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center, which is south in Marietta. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is more than 30 miles away. CobbLinc buses stop along Barrett Parkway, but most residents rely on personal vehicles to get around.Shopping and dining at nearby strip malls and the Town Center at Cobb
Strip malls at the intersections of Interstates 75 and 575 with Barrett Parkway offer big-box names just outside the entrance of Shiloh Valley. “Costco is right there, it’s really easy to get off work and stop before coming home,” Wagner notes. These strip malls are in the orbit of a more concentrated commercial center 2 miles from Shiloh Valley: the Town Center at Cobb, an indoor shopping mall destination that’s home to dozens of specialty retailers and anchors like Macy’s. Big chain restaurants like Texas Roadhouse and Bahama Breeze stand within and between the area’s strip malls, as do more local names that specialize in diverse global cuisines like Provino’s Italian Restaurant and Pinch of Spice Indian Cuisine.Noise barriers along Shiloh Valley’s nearby commuter highways
Because of how busy Interstates 75 and 575 are, those living nearby may hear cars rushing by. Noise barriers help dampen sound coming from the interstates on Shiloh Valley’s eastern edge.
