Victory has been home to generations of Marietta aerospace industry commuters
When Victory Heights was developed in the 1940s, it was a suburb of necessity; Marietta’s new Bell Bomber plant needed somewhere to house the laborers working to craft B-29 aircraft through World War II. Long after the Allies achieved victory overseas, that starter home neighborhood has retained the name Victory, and the neighboring aerospace industrial area instead bears the names of Lockheed Martin and Dobbins Air Reserve Base. Victory's preserved suburban core and location between Marietta’s cultural and commuter centers have ensured its longevity, as have the community schools and strip malls built in and around it in more recent years. “Victory has stood the test of time because of its location. Lockheed Martin is a major employer for us, and it was literally built so that you could walk to that area to work. It’s close to all kinds of grocery stores and you can get to Interstate 75 and Atlanta very quickly,” says Stephanie Turner Lee, a Realtor with Atlanta Communities West Cobb who has specialized in the Marietta and Cobb County markets for 25 years.
On the quiet residential streets of Victory, you'll find modest mid-century homes that sit neatly behind manicured hedges and charming white picket fences.
Victory's convenient placement in Marietta, GA provides easy access to nearby shopping centers and surrounding neighborhoods.

1940s homes and newer developments around Victory
The street names in Victory highlight its enduring role in local industry as well as its classic, meandering suburban planning; Park Avenue connects its namesake green space to Victory Drive and Aviation Road. On these sidewalk-lined streets, residents live in original minimal traditional homes built in the 1940s that sell for $260,000 to $385,000. Newer construction townhouses in communities developed in the past 20 years sell for around $370,000 to $445,000. Duplexes and other multi-family dwellings contribute to the fact that more Victory residents are renters rather than homeowners, as do larger apartment complexes near Kennesaw University Marietta Campus.
Elegant brick townhomes in Victory offer modern, multi-level living with attached garages, perfect for residents seeking both space and convenience in a walkable neighborhood.
Classic ranch style homes are a staple in Victory, reflecting the area's mid-century roots and its quiet, family-friendly character.

The strip malls off U.S. Route 41 are anchored by nearby retailers like Walmart and Sam’s Club, while Food Depot and Family Dollar stand along South Marietta Parkway. Restaurants also line these strips just outside Victory, but one KFC is more than a national chain – it's a Marietta landmark thanks to the 56-foot tall Big Chicken sculpture. "The beak moves – I have a picture of him in my office. People use it to give directions, like, ‘Turn left at the Big Chicken.’ We all love the Big Chicken,” Turner Lee says. Locally owned restaurants stand down the road from this roadside attraction, including the neon-lit, chrome-covered Marietta Diner.
