Dacusville is a welcoming community
Situated among rolling hills with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Dacusville is a rural community just 15 miles from downtown Greenville. The area offers homes with sprawling lots at a lower cost than its city neighbor. Despite the distance between properties, people in the community are well-connected and often share decades of experiences. “It’s a lot of staple families that grew up in the area and have passed on their legacy to other family members,” says Melissa Hall, a real estate agent with Allen Tate, who grew up in the area and has sold several homes there.
While many residents go back generations, the area is seeing an influx of newcomers. “We are happy to have them, says Marie Graziano, a Realtor with Open House Realty. Graziano moved to Dacusville 20 years ago largely because of the welcoming nature of the community and she says that hasn’t changed. “Dacusville has an Easley address, but it’s really different. It’s friendlier. There are the old-school ways of people opening doors for you and people waving when they drive by,” she says. “You can get to downtown Greenville in 15 minutes from Dacusville and it’s all back roads. You get to escape the world but still be convenient to the world. I love Dacusville. It's a hidden gem.”

Dacusville offers homes with plenty of land
Many homes sit on multi-acre properties with wooded lots. Dense greenery lines the residential streets, concealing many homes behind a wall of mature trees. Ranch homes from the 1980s and contemporary homes with two-car garages are common here. “It’s less neighborhoods and more individual properties,” Graziano says. “It’s a beautiful time to get in while the prices are low. We haven’t caught up with the rest of the country. It’s still affordable here.”
Though the occasional home needing renovation can be found for less than $200,000, Hall says, “$150,000 is not really the norm anymore. The norm in the area would be more like $250,000 to $300,000.” For those looking for rare homes over 3,000 square feet with more than 20 acres, prices can run from $800,000 to over $1 million. No matter the price point, houses in Dacusville are not part of a homeowners association—a feature that remains a draw for many homebuyers.
The overall crime score in Dacusville is 1 out of 10, according to the CAP Index Crime Score, significantly lower than the national average of 4.
Contemporary style homes are slowly appearing around the neighborhood.

Students attend well-ranked Pickens School District schools
Public school students may attend Dacusville Elementary, Ducusville Middle and Pickens High. The schools are part of the Pickens School District and earn B, B-plus and B-minus Niche grades, respectively. Home of the Blue Flame, the high school boasts a state-championship-winning marching band. “The high school is quite new,” Graziano says. “It’s less than 10 years old.”
Students in the area can attend Dacusville Elementary.
Pickens High School is only a short drive away from Dacusville.

Errands can be accomplished in nearby Easley
While residents typically drive to Easley to get their errands done at big box stores like Walmart and Aldi, there are a couple of shops and restaurants right in Dacusville. Along Farrs Bridge Road, locals can pick up essentials at Dollar General or stop by The New Clock of Dacusville for a burger or a meat and three. Dacusville Pizza Stop on Dacusville Highway is another local favorite for Italian fare. A night out with friends could be spent chucking axes and listening to live music at The Twisted Axe on Little Pond Road.
Haywood Mall, the largest mall in the state, is about 17 miles away in Greenville. It has more than 170 retailers, including Macy’s and an Apple store.
Dacusville residents can head to the local Walmart to pick up some supplies.

The Dacusville Farm Show is an anticipated annual event
An annual tradition for more than a decade, The Dacusville Farm Show takes place every Labor Day weekend. The two-day event on Earls Bridge Road features a parade, antique cars and tractors and live music. It’s hosted by the Dacusville Heritage Association, which also holds monthly meetings and a holiday party for members.

Golfing and fishing in Dacusville
At the Dacusville Recreation Department on Shoals Creek Church Road, locals can get their steps in on the walking track, shoot some hoops or play a game of tennis. The Dacusville Community Center on Earls Bridge Road offers a playground and a gym with fitness equipment.
Further down the same street, anglers in the area catch catfish and bream at Clearsprings Fishing Lake. Golfers can spend their free time putting around at Rolling Green Golf Course on Hester Store Road. The public course has 27 holes and weekly tournaments.
There are also a few gyms to choose from right outside of Dacusville.

Residents hop on Route 183 to get to Greenville
For trips into Greenville, residents head east on Route 183 for 15 miles. Easley can be reached with a 10-mile trip south on Route 135. It’s home to Prisma Health Baptist Easley Hospital, a 109-bed facility. To travel outside South Carolina, Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is 25 miles east on Route 183.
