Amenity rich, HOA-run homes
Though bordering areas like Pumpkintown and Dacusville, Slater-Marietta offers a different approach to rural life with several homeowners associations scattered throughout its borders—a determining factor for homebuyers deciding which neighborhood in Greenville County is the best fit. “Most of the time, people choose to be in Dacusville because it’s not a community that has homeowners associations, unlike Slater-Marietta,” says Melissa Hall of Allen Tate, an agent who’s lived in Greenville County and has sold many homes there. On the other hand, many seek out Slater-Marietta for its amenity-rich subdivisions and conveniently located homes. While some homes sit on multi-acre lots with mountain views, others feature compact lots along connective sidewalks that lead to nearby shops and community hubs.
Subdivisions offering choice in lifestyle
The neighborhood comprises multiple subdivisions, allowing locals to decide between convenience and privacy. Residents looking for mountain views in their backyard and recently constructed Craftsman-style homes live in Pointe Summit, a gated subdivision, and those who prefer to live near hiking trails opt for Cliff Ridge Colony, closest to Caesar’s Head State Park. For larger lots and a more secluded feel, subdivisions like Riverstead offer densely wooded, multi-acre properties with access to amenities like a barn, pool and community farm, and the gated golf community called Golf Ridge Cottages provides a similar degree of seclusion with access to multiple golf courses and members-only recreational opportunities. While homes in the heart of Slater-Marietta start at around $220,000, homes in Cliff Ridge start closer to $320,000. Houses in the Pointe Summit boast a higher price point, beginning around $420,000 and extending beyond $1 million for homes with over 4,000 square feet. Because of the amenities and homeowners associations, Hall explains, “Slater-Marietta brings a little more price per square foot than Dacusville.”
