The suburban gateway into Marysville
Suburban Sunnyside is in Marysville, a Snohomish County city about 35 miles north of Seattle. Not to be confused with a city by the same name in Yakama County, about 200 miles away, this Sunnyside is just northeast of the city of Everett, which has the highest population in the county.
Views of the Snohomish River, the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound enhance the environment in Sunnyside, which has been experiencing ongoing investment by the city. As the gateway into Marysville, Sunnyside anticipates more improved infrastructure, commercial services and business growth.
Primarily built in recent decades, HOAs
Though there are some older homes, like 20th-century ranch-style houses, most were built after 2000. Prices range from $500,000 to $1 million, depending on the square footage and features. "Sunnyside offers a larger inventory of updated homes and has more budget-friendly houses compared to downtown Everett," says Ashley Bolden, a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty Everett and a specialist in the area for over seven years. Fees for properties in homeowners associations range from $20 to $110 a month. New construction includes four-to five-bedroom models, typically over 2,500 square feet.
The intentional community of Sunnyside Village is a cohousing development of about five acres, with 32 two- to three-bedroom cottages. Privately owned and accompanied by a common house, the cottages have sustainability and energy efficiency in mind.
