North of the community, Oak Knoll Park has a playground, open playing fields and walking trails. The kids' pool and splash pads are open during summer. Across the Tuscarawas River, the Massillon Recreation Center has indoor amenities that include an aquatic center, a track, a fitness center and volleyball courts. West Park-Columbia borders State Route 241 and State Route 21, providing convenient access to northeast Ohio. The Stark Area Regional Transit Authority (SARTA) serves the residents of West Park through several bus stops along Sixth Street and Ninth Street. Cyclists can take the scenic route along Walnut Road Southwest across the Tuscarawas River. The Akron-Canton Airport is about 14 miles north.
