Private communities surrounding the Rogue Valley Country Club
A private country club engulfs Rogue Valley, a suburban east Medford neighborhood situated along fairways. The neighborhood’s centerpiece is the Rogue Valley Country Club, a private, resort-like establishment with a golf course and fitness facilities across the street from wine-tasting rooms. A pocket of single-family homes sits along the fairways, part of the luxury Rogue Valley Estates subdivision, where homes span between 2,000 and 6,000 square feet. The Siskiyou and Cascade mountains tower over the area from a visible distance. Down the road is the Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center, which has a 24-hour emergency room and dozens of specialty healthcare departments and services. The hospital has the region’s only neonatal intensive care unit and hospital-based sleep center. Martin Huggins, a local real estate agent with Full Circle Real Estate, says that one of the biggest draws of this neighborhood is its location. “It’s close to everything down on the south end of Medford, it’s a quiet neighborhood, and it’s close to the hospital, which attracts a lot of medical professionals,” he says.

Custom-built properties and Craftsman architecture
Rogue Valley’s secluded cul-de-sac streets are lined with rows of ranch-style residences and custom-built traditional, contemporary and Craftsman homes. Flat roofs and exteriors with brick and stone detailing are common, and Rogue Valley Estates properties usually have paved driveways, attached garages and backyard pools shaded by towering trees. “It’s a well-established neighborhood, so the trees are mature,” says Huggins. “People also love the size of the lots and the privacy of the homes, and everyone takes care of their yards.” Another residential subdivision is Island Pointe, a small, gated community off Calle Vista Drive near the 12th golf course tee. Rogue Valley Estates developed in the mid-to-late 1900s, but most Island Pointe properties were constructed in the early 21st century. Architecture in the subdivision reflects a more modern and New Traditional taste. Single-family homes in this neighborhood can cost anywhere from $450,000 to $1 million, although some Island Pointe residences sold in the $1.2 million range.

Golfing at the Rogue Valley Country Club
The Rogue Valley Country Club (RVCC) has 27 holes total, including 18 in a championship-level course. Club members can use a racquetball court complex, an indoor fitness center and a temperature-controlled swimming pool with a poolside café and sports bar. Families like the club’s 10-hole mini-golf course, and residents can walk to nearby Summerfield Park for a small playground and grassy picnic areas. Approximately 2 miles outside the neighborhood is the Village Center Park, a 3.2-acre outdoor space with a playground, paved walking paths and a multi-use grass field. The park will eventually become a hub for the Southeast Area Greenway, a major pedestrian trail connecting a network of other greenways and city parks.

RoxyAnn Winery located across the street
One of Rogue Valley’s biggest selling points is that it’s next to lots of wine. Across the street from the country club are RoxyAnn Winery and the Dunbar Farms/Rocky Knoll Tasting Room. RoxyAnn was founded in 1918 and is one of the most popular wineries in the region, holding its tastings in a repurposed barn full of countryside décor. Next to RoxyAnn is the Pony Espresso Coffeehouse & Café, one of the region's oldest breakfast and lunch chains. Albertson’s is less than a mile south of the neighborhood and off of Phoenix Road; next to the grocery store is El Molcajete Mexican Grill, which serves authentic Mexican dishes and seafood specials, including Ceviche and Tacos de Mar.
