Mendham contains a variety of housing styles, reflecting the borough’s continued growth and development over time. Locals can also join the Mendham Golf and Tennis Club, a private club featuring an 18-hole golf course and courts for tennis or pickleball.

Significant buildings include the Phoenix House, a federal-style home built in the early 1800s, and The Black Horse Tavern and Pub, which dates back to 1742 and is the oldest operating restaurant in New Jersey.
