Mercerdale: a quiet little island community
Whether it’s joining a fun community event, taking a kayak on Lake Washington or indulging in sustainable cuisines, Mercerdale has a place for it. “It's not quite isolated but more remote and peaceful," says Sherry Fisher, who has been a public services assistant at the Mercer Island Library for over a year. "You get a lot of people who assume you live on the island because you work here but a lot of people are passing through on their way to Seattle or the east side in Kirkland and Bellevue, so they’re more interested in your story." With an island this small, a small-town feel is certainly par for the course and residents enjoy the tranquility and the camaraderie.
For a peaceful island neighborhood away from city noise, Mercerdale is the perfect spot.
