They can wander over 3,000 acres or settle down for a weekend at the campsite. Usery Pass Road and Bush Highway are popular among cyclists. Because the area is not too steep, it’s accessible for mountain biking beginners. Golden Hills Park is a pleasant open area with a pavilion to relax under and a playground for kids to explore. Restaurants tend to be locally owned, and many of them are brand new. “It’s a different Main Street than it was years ago,” says Galindo. “It used to be only a few businesses. Now, there’s a new one every single day, and it’s vibrant again.” Sourdough Pizza is a local favorite serving up fresh classic recipes. Their décor is quirky, usually featuring some horror element. JJ Madisons All American Grill is a weekend staple that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. If their extensive beer and bourbon list isn’t exciting enough, their venue certainly is.
