Samuell Farm is about 4 miles north of the neighborhood and covers over 400 acres. Established in 1938, Samuell Farms has multiple fishing ponds, plenty of fishing spots, green space and a paved path that leads to the various features of the park. There are a few smaller parks nearby, including Valley Creek Park, Paschall Park and Copeland Dog Park. Valley Creek Park is centered around a lake that has a paved path and a softball complex.Outdoor Adventure Camp and Mesquite events
Samuell Farm is host to an Outdoor Adventure Camp in the late summer and has a variety of activities for children, including archery, photography and mountain biking. Mesquite itself has events throughout the year, including a Dive-In Movie at City Lake Aquatic Center in June.Downtown Dallas 15 miles west
East Glen Boulevard divides the neighborhood in two and can lead into downtown Dallas, about 15 miles west. U.S. Route 80 is to the north of the neighborhood, and Interstate 635 is to the west. Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is over 30 miles west with the closer Mesquite Metro Airport for private planes. “There are several really good hospitals nearby,” Hudler says. The Dallas Regional Hospital is a little less than 3 miles north.
