New Traditional homes with a new subdivision in the south
New Traditional homes line the streets. They often have one or two trees in their front yard, and some properties have a backyard pool. Most of the homes in the neighborhood were built between 1990 and 2000, with a median year of 1997. Although, ValleyBrooke is a subdivision in the southern section of Park at Creek Crossing that is currently being built. “There are several builders and several new amenities,” says Sara Hudler, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Apex, Realtors. “It’s a great starter area.” ValleyBrooke is a part of a homeowners association; the rest of the neighborhood does not. For the majority of the community, housing prices can range between $290,000 and $360,000. Homes in the ValleyBrooke subdivision have a larger range, but since they are currently being built, the prices may change.

Walking distance to Sam Rutherford Elementary
Children in this neighborhood can begin education at Sam Rutherford Elementary School, which has a grade of B from Niche. It sits next to Rutherford Recreation School, and is within walking distance of much of the community. Students can then attend Frank B. Agnew Middle School, which earns a B-minus. Mesquite High School, the oldest in the Mesquite Independent School District, earns a B. South of the neighborhood is Vanguard High School, a school of choice. “There are no sports or band, but it is a career tech school. It’s very college-minded,” says Hudler. “They have welding, EMT training, cosmetology.”

East Glen Greenbelt and Copeland Dog Park
East Glen Greenbelt has a small park along Parkwood Trail, along with a trail that follows North Mesquite Creek. Rutherford Recreation Center sits along the western edge and offers a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation activities for residents of all ages. Copeland Dog Park is the largest in Mesquite at 11 acres and has 2.5 acres of leash-free areas for large and small canines.

Nearby national chains and downtown Mesquite
The neighborhood is entirely residential, with a Dollar General about a mile west. A Tom Thumb and various restaurants, like Burger Pop Mesquite, are just a little further. There is also a Walgreens and CVS. Downtown Mesquite is just over 2 miles west and is home to a variety of local businesses, including Alejandro’s at Front Street Station, a Mexican restaurant with Texan influences, and Windsor Florist, a family-owned business. Town East Mall is approximately 7 miles north of the neighborhood.

Route 80 into downtown Dallas
U.S. Route 80 sits about 4 miles north of the neighborhood and leads into downtown Dallas, with Interstate 20 about 5 miles south. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport is less than 40 miles west. Mesquite itself doesn’t have public transportation, but Buckner Station is about 12 miles west. It grants access to the greater Dallas area through the Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s green rail line. The Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite is about 3 miles north.
