In Saddle Club South, homes are New Traditional or ranch-style, built in the 1980s with brick facades. They often feature rear two-car garages and front lawns landscaped with mature trees. In Saddle Club Estates, homes are also in the New Traditional style but bigger, with four or five bedrooms and 3,000 square feet or more. Lots are also larger, with sprawling manicured lawns and backyard pools. Many school options within the Midland ISD

Midland Independent School District covers the city and offers students to apply to charter schools throughout the city. The schools zoned to Saddle Club are Santa Rita Elementary, which rates a B on Niche; Goddard Jr. High, which rates a C; and Midland High, which rates a C-minus. Ninth graders can start high school at Midland Freshman High, which rates a C, or attend Midland High for all four years.

Midland College is about 3 miles from the neighborhood. It offers more than 30 associate programs, two bachelor’s programs, and the Petroleum Professional Development Center, which provides continuing education for employees of Permian Basin energy industries.

Saddle Club South has a recreation center with a pool, tennis courts and a playground. Golfers can join the Midland Country Club or book a tee time at Hogan Park’s course. Hogan Park also features baseball and softball fields, walking trails and a dog park. The Midland Polo Club has matches in the spring and fall, and locals gather for laid-back evenings of tailgating and divot stomping.
